We are seeking judges for this year's Article/Thesis Prizes!
Each year, the AAS draws on the expertise of our Fellow members to judge the year's outstanding contributions to anthropological research.
The categories for the awards include:
- Best Honours/Masters thesis
- Best PhD thesis
- Best journal article.
Each panel consists of three Fellow judges (so we need 9 judges in total). Judging occurs between late August and the end of October and requires a commitment of time. The PhD judges are asked to read at least 2-3 chapters of each thesis, while the Honours/Masters thesis and articles judges are asked to read the entire submissions.
As a small token of our appreciation, judges receive a book voucher for their time expertise ($100 for thesis judges, $50 for article judges).
Judging a panel is a tremendous way established anthropologists can support early career researchers and excellent research.
